Swing Dance for Big Brothers Big Sisters! Get ready to move and groove on a huge wooden dance floor, perfect for practicing your swing steps or just enjoying the music. Beyond the dance floor, there’ll be outdoor games like ping pong and cornhole, and the Charred Brunch Food Truck will be on hand with tasty treats. This event is free for Bigs, Littles, and their families and the general public is invited for a $20 admission, or $10 by contributing a 13-gallon kitchen trash bag full of donated clothing.
About The Lesson and Social Dancing
You’ll learn some East Coast Swing moves in the lesson and then get to experience a variety of different dances like Lindy Hop, Balboa, Blues, and Charleston during the social dance portion of the evening. BBBS has a “giant wood dance floor” although we don’t know the square footage, this sounds incredible!
Music
The music is provided by live DJs who play a range of swing music from the 1900s to1940’s, with a mix of fast and slow tempos. From big band and rockabilly to the latest hits, the DJs work hard to bring you the best variety of swing music and welcome requests.
Age Range
The age range is typically those in their forties and above.
