Every First Tuesday Night is a continuation of the Tuesday night swing dance that started way back in 1996 at the Bash on Ash, run by Steve Conrad and the Arizona Lindy Hop Society. It’s one of the longest-running swing dances in the world! Over the years, venues may have changed from nightclubs to hotels to ballrooms, but one thing has stayed the same: the high quality of instruction and music.
About The Lesson and Social Dancing
You’ll learn East Coast Swing during the lesson and then get to see East Coast Swing, Lindy Hop, Balboa, Charleston, and Shag during the social dance portion of the evening. Whether you’re a seasoned swing dancer or just getting started, there’s something for everyone at the First Tuesday Night swing dance.
Music
The music is provided by live DJs who play a range of swing music from the 1900s to today’s hits, with a mix of fast and slow tempos. From big band and rockabilly to the latest hits, the DJs work hard to bring you the best variety of swing music and welcome requests.
Age Range
The age range at First Tuesdays is typically those in their forties and above.
