Welcome to the Half-Cut Club, brought to you by the creative minds behind South Central Swing at The Duce, DeSoto, and Al Moro! This is the place to be if you want to get happily intoxicated by the heavily pulsing sounds of great swing music and the sights of bodies shuffling, stomping, and Lindy Hopping late into the night.
Swing out at Half-Cut!

About The Lesson and Social Dancing
During the lesson, you will learn some East Coast Swing with a little Lindy Hop thrown in. Social dancing starts immediately after the lesson ends, and you’ll see a variety of different dances on the dance floor, including the Lindy Hop, Six Count Swing, Shag, Balboa, Charleston, and Blues. Be sure not to miss the dance jam at 9:00 PM, which is open to newcomers, returnees, out-of-towners, and anyone celebrating a special occasion. This is followed by the Tranky Doo. (If you used to come to swing dancing at The Duce, this is our new home!)
Music
The DJ plays a range from or inspired by music of the 1920’s to 1950’s’, including a mix of fast and slow tempos. During the last half hour, the music frequently ramps up to 180 bpm or higher, really finishing the night on a high note.
Age Range
At Half-Cut, the age range is typically from people in their twenties to fifties, with a skew towards the younger range.
About Half-Cut
Formerly Hair Pollution, this space has been transformed into the ultimate event venue, with a smooth concrete floor that’s perfect for dancing. It’s an intimate space where you’ll find plenty of seasoned dancers and, often times, a signature cocktail crafted by Jonathan himself. Fellow dancers are also known to bring snacks, pizza and goodies to share.
Food and Drinks
There are many restaurants located around the venue. Water is provided to keep you hydrated, and there’s often a specialty cocktail on offer. Or, if you’re feeling adventurous, you can bring your own drink and party like it’s Prohibition all over again.
Air Conditioning
Yes
Parking
Parking is plentiful, free, and located all around the property. However, the parking lot directly attached to the side of the event, make sure to park only in the spots along the wall. Everything else is property of Ace Hardware – marked by white paint on the parking curbs – and they enforce no parking. There is also additional parking across the street and on the opposite side of the building, all free and well-lit.
